SB 2151    RELATING TO FIREARMS                           JDC/TIA
        Requires periodic re-registration of firearms.

SB 2127    RELATING TO FIREARMS                           JDC/TIA
        Details the circumstances under which and the persons
        to whom, the chiefs of police may issue licenses to
        carry a concealed weapon or firearm; details processes
        for license applications, renewals, and record
        keeping; authorizes person to carry stun gun or other
        electric gun for defensive, nonlethal purposes;
        specifies instances where carrying concealed weapons
        and firearms is strictly prohibited.

SB 181     RELATING TO AMMUNITION                             JDC
        Makes it a misdemeanor for any person to sell
        ammunition for any firearm to any person except upon
        proof that the purchaser is the registered owner of
        the firearm for which the ammunition is being

 
        purchased or, in the case of ammunition for a rifle or
        shotgun acquired prior to 7/1/94, dated sales receipt
        for firearm, other written valuable indicia of
        ownership, or a certificate of ownership issued by
        county police chief.  Requires recordkeeping.

SB 182     RELATING TO STORAGE OF FIREARMS                    JDC
        Requires storage of firearms in commercially
        manufactured firearm safe, or locked in commercially
        manufactured gun rack, that cannot readily be removed
        from the premises.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 30 copies (1 sided) of
their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 227, State Capitol,
24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if
less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms
Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor
islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing,
please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the
date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies
needed for submittal.

interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
